Building the buzz on WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR ?
The movie got off to a great start on Saturday and you can help it
build momentum by participating in one or more of the opening
splashes planned around Southern California. If you want to learn
more about the movie there are two reviews you can check out.

There is a lot more to be done. The openings in various areas near
by should also be a lot of fun and are a chance for us to do what we
can to get the word out. We got over sixty new members from the
Saturday event alone. Check out where the nearest opening
splash is for you.
There is also a full list of the openings scheduled around the
country for you to check out and forward to your friends in those
areas.

Awesome Results from the Saturday
Grand Opening
There were over twenty RAV4 EV’s lined up on Broxton and the
best selection of EV’s in the Green Day Fair that I have seen yet.
One of the last surviving EV1’s from GM was on display as was
the electric pick up truck that got the whole Don’t Crush
movement started.
There were several thousand people passing through the event and
plenty of camera crews. Our Club members were out in force with
four or five people getting the word out at our main booth and at
least four booths operated by our members in all.
We signed up over sixty people for our mailing list including some
really wonderful long time EV activists and activists from related
sustainable energy efforts.
Special thanks to John Breza, Joe Gershen, Joe Blackburn, Aggi
Reader, JP Klien, and Paul Pearson for making the booths happen.
It was also great to have the support of Collete, Alex and Chris,
David, Alayha and Amy and lots of others who showed up and
helped spread the word and support the effort.
The really big thanks and credit goes to our EV champions Paul
Scott, Chelsea Sexton and Linda Nichols who have been working
for months to bring this movie and the events into being. They
have been working with the support of lots of truly fine people like
Doug Kortoff, Bob Seldon, and lots of others that are helping to
make these things happen. I am sure my limited knowledge of this
is leaving people out but you know who you are and that your
efforts are appreciated.
Check out the movie credits for others that we know who helped to
make this happen.

Getting your Sustainable Ride
ELECTRIC BICYCLES a big draw at the opening
The electric bicycle that we had from the Santa Barbara Electric
Bicycle Company (SBEBC) was a big draw at the event. We had
one person order one of them while we were still setting up the
booth!
These bikes are a perfect way to get back on two wheels so you
can do your local errands without starting your car. Did you know
that some cars put out more pollution during their cold start
activities than they do the rest of the day? Electric vehicles do not
have this problem.
Several people took test rides and I suspect more will order soon.
This is a great way for us to not only get more sustainable rides on
the street but the SBEBC will help us to pay for our activities as a
result of these sales. Yes, we do have expenses for our activities
and what better way to cover them than by getting more electric
bicycles on the road.
Please get your orders in ASAP so that the SBEBC can bring them
all down at one time – it will save you a delivery charge for
pickups in Santa Monica. You can get a test ride and check these
out more closely in the Santa Monica area – just email or call. We
will be providing local support on the Westside for these bikes.
There was one man who wanted to start an Electric Bicycle Club
and this could be the way to get that kicked off and build our circle
of contacts that way.
Call or email to get yourself and your friends going with this – 310-450-7419 electric@sustainabletransportclub.com
