Test Rides of electric scooters this week
A chance to test the brand new scooter technology
One of the of the things that has come about from the earth day
event this weekend is that you get a chance to test drive some
really great new technology. We have laid on a special test drive
session just for Sustainable Transport Club and for the Cycle Santa
Monica subscribers group. The test drive will also include a new
2000watt brush less motor on a classic style scooter. The EVT 168
will also be available for rides courtesy of John Breza.
The test drive will be on Saturday April 22nd from 10:00 to 12:30.
It will start in the parking lot of Hastings Plastics at 17th and
Colorado (1704 Colorado Ave.) and continue from 18th and
Colorado.
Bring your helmets (optional) and drivers licenses and check out
these new rides.

Report on EARTH DAY Saturday, April 15.
The Earth-day event was a wonderful success. The Sustainable
Transport Village came together beautifully. The teamwork was
fantastic in creating this event with great signs and group unity. The response from the public was incredible with almost a hundred
new names for the sign up on the mailings. We have lots of
people for test drives on the new scooters this week. It was an all
round success.
PARTICIPATING GROUPS INCLUDED: the Sustainable
Transport Club, Green Depot, the Westside Greens, Los Angeles
County Bicycle Coalition, TRANS-PORT+STATION inc, Flexcar,
the Sierra Club, Bio Beetle Eco Rental Cars, Bio Moto Diesel car sales, Santa Barbara Electric Bicycle Company and Big
Blue Bus.
DISPLAYS changed at the last minute and were still awesome.
They included: 4 - bio diesel vehicles, a RAV4 Electric SUV, a
Hydrogen - Electric Vehicle hybrid Prius, several electric motor
scooters including hot new E-max scooter, the Electric Vehicle
Technologies (EVT), electric bikes and skateboards and unique
bicycles including some inspiring commuter, load carrying and
folding bikes.
It was awesome to see the entire content of one booth being hauled
away on two bicycles with trailers on the back.
Special thanks to all those who helped make it happen and to the
volunteers who helped the day go so well. This goes double for
Kacy Palmieri and Jim Stewart who organize the whole Earth day
event.
