Earthday 2007
Earthday 2007 is coming up in April - What can we do to make the most out of this?
In 2006 the members of the Club worked together to create the Sustainable Transport Village on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. This brought together electric cars, biodiesel cars and companies, electric
motor scooters, car sharing, bicycles, electric bicycles, electric motor scooters, mass transit interests, SM City people and local groups in the first big show of group support and commitment to working together.
This Village helped lay the ground work for the Alt Car Expo and other efforts. It brought the group together to show that we
truly have overlapping and related interests that allow us to work together.
The group has more than doubled in size since that event. So what can we do with this larger group? There are Earthday events all over the State and the Country. How many Sustainable Transport Villages can we put together to get as many communities going as possible. This stuff works and can make a difference in your community.

South Bay Energy Fair
The 2007 South Bay Energy Fair, taking place this May 5th in Rancho Palos Verdes. We exhibited at this last year and it should be even bigger this year. One of our people is helping to make this happen so it is a way to
support that as well. This is a good way to build our Club in the South Bay while helping people to understand about sustainable transport.
The South Bay Energy Fair will show how to:
- Save gasoline, electricity, and other energy consumption
- Save money and gain convenience
- Reduce national dependency on imported petroleum
- Improve air quality and reduce pollution
